Why I’m so Liberal with the Link Love

link love

If you’re a regular visitor to my blogs, you know I like to end my weekly blogging with a link love post featuring news, tips and ideas from my favorite bloggers. I do this for several reasons:

I was once asked why I like to send my visitors to my competition. I responded that I don’t see other bloggers as competitors. I see them as friends and colleagues and we all share ideas together.

We all appreciate when other bloggers link to us, won’t you do the same?

I’m with you, Deb. I think the community side of things really does make us all stronger. On top of that, linking to quality posts on other blogs says, “I’m confident enough to send you away from my blog. I know you’ll be back later. Enjoy!” It also says, “I know enough about my topic to recognize when someone else is spot on.”

    Good form.

I’m free with links as well Deb. Especially when an idea for a post comes from another blogger it is only right to say so and link back to the original post.

Good post Deb. I had a similar rant a while back at larger blogs who only link internally. It really bugs me.

I think every now and again you also need to search around in your niche for other good blogs, subscribe to them and comment/link to build up a relationship. And now that I’ve said that, I’m off to search for other music blogs that might be interesting…
